It was standing room only at the NRLA’s second Wales ‘On Tour’ event in Llandudno last week.

NRLA North Wales representative Sandra Towers hosted as an impressive line-up of speakers took to the stage.

The event got underway with video updates from Climate Change Minister Julie James MS and the Shadow Climate Change Minister, Janet Finch-Saunders MS.

Following the presentations by both Ministers, NRLA CEO Ben Beadle updated delegates with the latest on NRLA Wales campaigning. Ben also outlined the support and resources available for NRLA members when it comes to understanding the Renting Homes (Wales) Act.

A lively Welsh legislative panel discussion then followed, which included expert contributions from Douglas Haig, Non-Executive Director for Wales, Lucinda Wolf, Senior Solicitor at Kearns Solicitors, and NRLA Head of Policy, James Wood.

The event was supported by exhibitors including St James’s Place, 3mc Mortgages, Kearns Legal, Rentguarantor, and Conwy County Borough Council.

Landlords in the room also had the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the NRLA’s Portfolio property management tool, free and exclusive for NRLA members.

Following the event, the Welsh Government held the first two working groups relating to the Fair Rents and Right to Adequate Housing consultation, at the same venue in Llandudno.

The NRLA is encouraging all landlords in Wales to respond directly to this consultation on rent controls. Please have your say here.
