The landlords' guide to property inventories

In collaboration with the NRLA, the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) has created an informative guide to property inventories.

In this guide, we explore the vital elements of inventories, check-in and check-out reports, shedding light on crucial aspects such as the opportune time for inventory creation, and the key components that make an inventory robust.

We delve into the check-out process and offer tips and strategies to handle inventory disputes effectively.

The guide aims to empower property owners with knowledge and tools to understand the inventory, check-in and check-out processes and equip landlords with skills to foster positive landlord-tenant relationships, ensuring a smooth renting experience. Download the guide here

In addition to the guide, we invite you to join us for an exclusive webinar on Tuesday 23rd April at 1pm, where industry experts will delve deeper into Mastering Inventory Check-Ins, Check-outs and Dispute Prevention.

Sandy Bastin, Head of Adjudication Services at The Tenancy Deposit Scheme, and Mitch Handley, Marketing Manager from Inventory Hive, will guide you through everything you need to know about your inventory reporting process.

Our presenters will explain the essential aspects of creating inventories and note the key elements that you should include. You’ll learn about the check-in and check-out process, and understand the role of adjudicators in making decisions, based on the evidence presented in the inventories.
