Is a Possession Order worth the paper it is written on?!?!

I am currently awaiting a Possession Order after non compliance with S21 (thanks for all the advice thus far).  The deadline for tenants to make a defence was today, and I was at the Court at 5pm to post the Notice of Intent along with a covering letter. I dont think they have filed a defence so I am hoping that there will no need for a court hearing, and I am optimistic that the judge will grant the order, as I am facing homelessness myself if I cant get my home back!

The tenants are now listed as "Prioirty" with the local council. I called the Allocations Officer today and although it was still unclear, I get the distint impression from her (and other grapevines) that tenants will not be rehomed until the eviction notice is issued.

Does anyone have experience of a Possession Order having any weight or is it simply a cash cow for HM Treasury?

What is the point of a Possession Order!?!?
