Recently, I asked the management company who looks after my flat (and also flats of other owners in the block) if they could pay for the damage their workman caused in my property. Then out of the blue, 2 weeks after requesting this money, they sent me an invoice for service charges dating back to 2020 and each subsequent year until the present. As far as I am concerned, they have a history of poor management and being untrustworthy, and I feel that the invoice and the reasons they have cited for billing me now, are being fabricated. I asked why they are billing me now for the years  2020/21/22 and they replied with this -

'The delay in sending these invoices was due to administrative changes, pandemic-related disruptions, and an internal reconciliation revealing outstanding invoices.'

Does anyone have any advice on how I would challenge this and what information I should ask them for to substantiate this invoice?
many thanks
