My tenant paid the first 2 monthly rent payments and then stopped. He usually pays by online money transfer. He did not contact me to explain the non arrival of rent.

When I first visited him, he was out of work but hoped to borrow money or back in work soon. I last visited him 2 weeks' ago. Said that he couldnt find work and intended to sign on.

He signed on the next day and said he would keep me advised and that 'he didnt intend on going anywhere' i.e. running away. Its now 2 weeks and he hasnt yet been back in touch.

so far I have not sent him a letter recording the overdue rent, should I now send a letter, as a matter of course and record, pending further developments?
