Returning late secured deposit - Section 21

Possession - Section 8 and Section 21

Hi Everyone

My tenants started their tenancy in 2010 upon which I took a deposit for £600. I plan to move back in the house so need to give them notice.

I secured the deposit late in 2015.

I have the tenants bank account details and was wondering if the steps I plan to take before issuing the section 21 notice are correct.

1. I wil inform the tenant in writing that I will be returning the deposit in full
2. Return the money via the bank
3. Inform the Tenancy Deposit Scheme that I have returned the money.
4. Then after a few days serve the section 21
