I have recently rented out a property to a family on benefits. I was told that the benefits had been agreed and would be paid every into my account every 2 weeks. I did not take a deposit as this was to be paid monthly over a 6 month period. The tenants have been in the property for 5 weeks and i have received no rent or deposit. I have to them and they told that there was a mix up at the benefits office and i would be paid in full next week. I contacted the benefits agency who told that 2 payments i been made to the tenants on 1st and 21st May, the next one is due next week.. I have tried to contact the tenants but they are not answering their phone. What is my next course of action.
