My wife has just called the RLA help desk for advice on issuing a notice 8 - she has researched the detail on the internet but just wanted clarification of a few points so she wasnt' coming at this completely clueless. The person on the other end of the line (who shall remain nameless) was extremely condescending and patronising.

I hope this is a one off, but just in case it isn't, may I remind the RLA that we, its members are its "customers" and through our subscriptions we pay a large part of their income. I do not expect any member to be spoken to in this manner - we still have a lot to learn in this country about customer relations!
