Chasing rent arrears after 5 years

Hi Tricky,

I would definitely chase the arrears. I don't know the specific date limitations but Citizens Advice should be able to advise - it may be up to 6 years.
The former tenants have to be presented with your claim first and be given an opportunity to settle before you can proceed to small claims court.

I would definitely consult a solicitor.
