Late depositing Tenant's Deposit - is Section 21 still possible?

Hi

I did the same thing when I got a new tenant in my house, it was a friend of a friend so didn't anticipate any problems!!

I deposited the bond, informed her of where it was, how much etc and then served her with a section 21.

I only did this in August and followed the advice from RLA so I assume the laws haven't changed since then!!
