section 21 notice.
Possession - Section 8 and Section 21

Hi. I gave my tenant a section 21 notice (tenanacy had lapsed into periodic by this time)around i year ago because he was behind with the rent. He managed to catch up with the payments so i allowed him to stay, by verbal agreement. He is now behind again and i want to issue another section 21. Can i do this, or is the other still in force even though the timescale expired probably a year ago? Thanks.
