Yup, times are very tough - for us landlords! The deposit is the only security we have against damage, unpaid rent, eviction costs,
whatever.
I now ask for six weeks (equivalent)- this makes the tenant think hard about his responsibilities, and hopefully encourage him to respect his accommodation.
