Section 8 and section 21 running concurrently

Hi

I have a situation with a set of troublesome tenants. I have had on going section 8 proceedings.

The tenancy is due up at the end of this month and a section 21 was served (by the solicitor handling the section 8). I am fairly sure that the tenants will not vacate the property so how does the ongoing section 8 affect the section 21. Can the two be pursued at the same time? Will they be separate actions or be lumped together?
