Just a warning to anyone out there to check their redemption statements, as a final figure is often given to your solicitor, but often you don't see the final figures. I have just reconciled mine and found out that on 2 mortgages I have been OVERCHARGED a total of £24,000. This was for redemption penalties that were invalid, but disguised as 'interest'. BEWARE - Had I not checked my statements I would have been none the wiswer and lost this money! In addition, the remortgage (with the same company) included 8K total of admin fees that they had expressly agreed not to charge on 3 occasions - again, had I not checked I would have lost this money.

I would be interested to know if anyone has similar expereinces?
