hi i was told yesterday by an officer of my local council that banks are not permited in law to take housing benefits from claimants who have their benefits paid direct into a bank account,(if they are overdrawn )i ask because some tenants claim that they cant pay their rent because the bank have taken their rent money before they can draw it out to pay me......many thanks michael @confra.
