I have just taken possesion of my 2nd BTL and had a letting agent round. He has valued the property at £400 pm private and strongly advised against DSS even though it would achieve £550 pm.

I have read the earlier thread and the opinions are divided for and against DSS. If I manage it myself and take onboard the advice given re references, guarantors etc, the difference of £1800 pa is very tempting.

As a novice, I would welcome your input.

Thanks
