Hi,
My husband and I own 3 rental properties. One in my name, one in his name and one in joint names. We thought it might be a good idea to transfer the 2 properties into both names. Would we have to pay stamp duty on the half that we were acquiring? ie My sole property is worth approx £300.000 so if we were putting in joint names would my husband have to pay stamp duty on £150k. We thought if it were the case to do it before the new year. Thanks.
