Hi, my tenant recently left my property. He left prior to an accompanied check out. His rent was £575 and the last month of tenancy he only paid £250 of this. I would like to deduct the remaining £325 from his deposit. Also he left the property unclean and I have spent a good amount of my own time cleaning the property (kitchen, oven, bathroom). Can I charge for my own time from his deposit? The deposit is lodged with the deposit protection service. What do I need to provide to them to make any deductions? Many thanks for you help.
