What should I do with an old deposit?

Hi RLA,

I have a tenant who signed a tenancy agreement with me in Feb 2004 before the compulsary deposit schemes came in. I hold the deposit.

My tenant is still there, we have not replaced the original agreement. Must I protect the deposit in one of the schemes?

Advise gratefully received.
