Tenancy Deposits

I am a landlord and homeowner. However, in order to rent out our home and move to a new house, there will be a period where I and my wife need to rent a property. I am concerned about deposit arrangements. Deposits tend to be large sums (6 weeks rent or more) and there are many stories about deposits never being returned or in dispute. Is there a deposit scheme I can opt for that will be the most reliable and trustworthy? Can I propose this to my new prospective landlord(s)? Thanks
