Hi
I let out a property in 2009 the inital referal coming from an estate agents. they had a bond of the tenant which now needs to be returned as it is the end of tenancy. unfortunately the agent is stating that the bond was paid into my account and not a deposit scheme as they origanally stated. i have no record of this payment in my accounts and thought that by law they would have held on to the bond.
what exactly is the law on agents taking bonds and is it usual to give the payment to the landlord.
