I have 6 properties, all rented out. However, there are no smoke alarms, fire blankets, extinguishers or carbon monoxide detecters etc in any of the properties. I heard that I should have adequate fire protection as a landlord to cover myself in the event of a fire breaking out. Is this mandatory? And if so, to what level?
i.e. Can I fit battery operated smoke alarms and leave it at that, or do they have to be mains operated etc...please help!
Many thanks!!
