The document RLA_TwoMonthsRentExplan_1108.pdf seems to conflict with the ASTA terms. (RLA_TwoMonthsRentExplan_1108 also seems very convoluted !!)

Para D8 of the ASTA talks about refunding rent paid that relates to a rental period beyond the end of the tenancy, less rent or other monies owed.

But the last and last but one paras of RLA_TwoMonthsRentExplan seem to imply that the final period of the tenancy does not require any rent to be paid, as it has already been paid earlier, thus nothing is due to back the tenant at the end of the tenancy.

I'd prefer the ASTA terms, as I'd still have some hold over a tenant for possible damage, unpaid gas bill etc., unless this isn't allowed?? (The RLA Helpdesk post of 11 January 2009)

Could you clarify please?
