I am due to receive a new deposit on Monday...
What is the advantage of using the Depositguard scheme over the DPS which I have used before? Surely if there is a dispute at the end I cannot retain any of the deposit without going through the DPS anyway?
Also....tenant has been in situ for 2 months already (using a council Rent Deposit scheme which pays first month rent and deposit to me via an agent)I did serve a section 21 with the new lease...but think I read somewhere that this should not be served until the deposit is received. Is this correct, should I serve a new version?
