yes I have experienced frightful problems with the DPS and went for arbitration to save on time/costs
my tenants were via an agent suppossedly reputable and said to have excellent references, but turned out to be a nightmare
serious damage was sustained to the property and took 2/3 months to carry out repairs
the arbitration returned the full deposit to the tenants
I am now complaining and demanding full partics. of who/where the arbitration was carried out (details are being refused)
I should be very interested to hear from ANYONE who has suffered similar loss's
the case was presentedd in a proffessional manner with full set of coloured photos and all the quotes reports and invoices (qualifide tradesman)
In my opinion the whole process is a racket the DPS must be making a fortune on the interest on all the deposits and do they employ experiences qualifide staff ?
DPS told me that the "dispute resolution handler" was a memeber of the ADR legal team - however this is denied and the ADR Chambers E- mailed me to say " --- and she is not one of ours -
