Can you please confirm exactly what the law is in terms of having an Electrical Safety certificate on file for each property.

Reason for query...we have a tennant who is desperate to move into a property that we have recently purchased and is currently without an elec safety cert (due to electricians avaialibilty), it does has a new gas safety cert, can we move them in?
