Description of legislation on DPS web-site suggests all AST Agreements are subject to Housing Act provisions, this would capture retropectively all Agreements prior to April 2007 quote but after 15th Jan 1989:

"The AST is defined by Housing Act 1988 and there are exempted occupations which cannot be ASTs, and to which therefore TDP does not apply. The exemptions are where the tenancy began before 15th January 1989, where the annual rent exceeds £25,000, or where the landlord is resident in the property".

Could you confirm that ASTs agreed after 15th January 1989 and before April 2007 are exempt from the provisions of the Act ?
