Dave, I posted the following response to your initial answer to my query about deposit protection following an AST renewal. I would be grateful if you could advise if you do know the legal answer.

Thanks Dave, I accept that I must follow the scheme rules but my question was about the law. Is MyDeposits using dishonest scare tactics saying that it is illegal to not re-protect the deposit or has the TDS got it wrong? I know I need to follow the scheme rules but I do not want to follow their rules and find that I have still broken the law!

Can you clarify please?
