Do the police help landlords?

The police have often failed to help when landlords complain that their tenants are threatening neighbours, their landlords, causing deliberate damage but now the police are asking us to stop tenants breaking drug laws! What legal powers do we have? Are we supposed to do regular drug searches on our antisocial tenants? We all know the police would soon arrest us if we tried that.
