Hi
I'm about to let out my house for the first time and I've arranged for an electrician to do a Periodic Inspections Report (just for peace of mind as I don't think it's a legal obligation.)
On the phone, the electrician implied I would need to upgrade my single RCD fusebox (that is original to the house) to a dual RCD fusebox due to the recent change in regulations.
Since being built the house has only had a few minor electrical changes (a few extra plug sockets here and there) so I don't think there's any requirement to upgrade the fusebox, and as the fusebox is original to the house I don't think the regulations require it to be upgraded?
So is it likely this electrician is just trying to encourage me to get work done that isn't necessary? In which case I might cancel his appointment and book someone else!
Thanks for your advice!!
