Hi there, your advice would really be appreciated....

My tenant is now at the end of his tenancy and wanting to stay longer. I believe I can allow the tenancy to run on without a new contract but have been told it's better to start a new AST for the next 6 months. If I do this must I square up the inventory at the new date or can I just let the inventory and deposit run to the end of the term as if it was a continuing contract? And is it really better to do a new AST or is a periodic statutory tenancy o.k?

Many thanks
