Rent increase

we have agreed a small rent increase with our tenants and were supposed to sign a new contract with them next week.
However one of the tenants had to go abroad at short notice (for a period of two months)and has written a letter saying that she is happy with the increase.
Is this ok and can I just leave things as they are and collect the new rent as agreed.
