Tenants had a tenancy agreement until July 2007, they left on 10/2/7 and vacated the property AND returned the key to me at this date, with rent arrears.
Sinc then the property has remained empty (and will do as it needs major work to bring it back to lettable standard after the mess these tenants made!).

If I sue in court, should I just claim the rent arrears up to the date they handed back the key, or can I claim up until now and into the future? (the std RLA agreement has a clause that says they are responsible for rent if they leave early, until we re-let it etc.)
