My tennats moved out of the my property a month ago. They have 3.5 months of rent in aeras, and they have caused substantial damage to the property. I have sent them numerous notices to pay at their last known address.I cannot collect any money from them. I am thinking of giving using a debt collection agency to collect the outstanding amount. Debt collection agencies charge between 25% to 45% plus other expenses. My question is can I claim the cost of using a debt collection agency from the tenants?
