Afternoon. I had an experience evry similar to this a few months ago. Took a picture of the keys and had a witness with me when I did this. What you may find is that the housing will send a letter to the property addressed to the tenant saying claim is cancelled, so keep going each day to check the mail. If you see this I would suggest re let, did you take a guarantor with the tenancy, anyone on benefit i recommend you do for these circumstances, good luck.
