What responsibilities does a Landlord have with garden maintenance? The AST states the garden should be well tended and maintained in a neat and tidy condition keping lawn cut, flowers bed and borders free of weeds and generally cultivate garden in a reasonable manner and condition according to the season of the year.
A 7ft hedge has fallen away from a supporting wall and the Landlard states that it is the tenants responsibility to cut down and clear away. Is this a reasonable request from the Landlord or should it be his responsibility bearing in mind this could result in a safety issue if the hedge fell on someone.
