advice sought re:credit checking and references

Hello

I have what appears to be a good prospective tenant. They tell me they have lived outside the UK for a number of years ( UK born) untill recently. Please can you tell me how this may affect a credit check if undertaken and if this type of tenant is considered a v high risk?
