It would be good to check on site - slugs love damp and maybe if the house is damp they will find a way in - also love rotting food -
There are several ways of getting rid - pour salt over them if you are brave enough, put pellets down as long as you don't have pets, or a "beer" trap - they love beer, and will drown.
Like mice they will get into the smallest space. Get rid of the damp, get rid of food rubbish particles,
Try these before changing the flooring - that won't help.anyway its easier to clean a slimy laminate floor than a carpet!
If you make the effort to eliminate the pest (slugs I mean) then you cannot do more!
and ask for documentary evidence if tenant says EH have been to the property. Do not believe him - he may be on a mission for reduced rent or no rent - so take care!
