We have a tenat who is refusing to pay rent due to problems with some of the communual areas. The apartment itself is in very good condition the only issues been with the communal entrance ad lighting in the car park. The previous management company did not meet the obligations of the contract and since a new management company has taken over the development. The issue now been that they are having difficulty in getting management payments from alll of the owners. For this reason repairs are slow and the bigger jobs been put on hold until there is more money in the pot. This is frustrating for us as we a paying money towards management fees whilst no work is been carried out and now the refusal of the tenant to pay rent. If the apartment is in good condition and it is only the communual entrance can he still withold the rent?
