I have recently had a few property to let ads (featured) on gumtree and I had a smsll problem with one ad which was rectified by gumtree fairly quickly.
However I received what I thought was a "customer satisfaction calI" offering me a very good deal to extend the ads for another week and because they caught me at a very busy time and I thought it was genuine because gumtree said they would contact me in a few days to check everything was ok I am very embarrised to say that I was scammed the person I spoke to sounded very plausable had all the reference numbers and later that night tried to help himself to thousands of pounds luckily my bank prevented most of it happening.

Has anyone else had similar experiences?
