Hi, I also have an improvement notice served regarding fire escape. The property is 3 storey with bedrooms to first floor and two further attic rooms accessed by a second staircase. The council states that as the tenants have decided to use an attic room as a bedroom (the attic room has an accessible skylight)I have to remove one of the first floor bedroom windows (1 yr old mahogany pvc not cheap)and replace with a new window with escape opener in it. It's all spend and never profit - can they insist on this?
