I have a flat for rent and a lady has just phoned me with regard to renting it and she is on Income Support(DSS). How do landlords stand with regard to the rent being paid from DSS tenants? Does the rent come straight to the landlord, as I have heard horror stories in the past with regard to DSS tenants getting the rent and then not giving it to the landlord. Do you advise going down the DSS path or stick with tenants who are in employment?
As I have never had DSS tenants i thought I would touch base for some advise?
