My tenant who was on HB has done a runner owing me some £1600 in witheld rent and leaving me with a "fixing up" bill of £1,900!! I traced him to his new abode and chatted with his new landlord who stated he also hadn't paid him a penny rent. I sent a small claims summons to that house resulting in the tenant doing a runner from there too! Now I believe he has moved to a different local authority (address as yet unknown. My/his previous HB dept just don't want to know. Is it worth chasing this person.....3.5k is a lot to lose. thanks.
