I was reading about a case where a tenant's guest fell down the stairs and may be taking the landlord to court for loss of earnings etc. The landlord has Public Liability Insurance and the article is recommending all landlords should have Public Liability Insurance as, if the landlord loses the case, it could cost him thousands of pounds.

Does anyone on here have Public Liability Insurance? We are accredited landlords and our properties are all in excellent condition but there is nothing to stop a tenant or their guests falling down the stairs. I just wonder whether a court would favour the tenant even if the house is in good repair.

Many thanks.
