Can we trigger tenants from HB onto LHA?

We are buying an HMO with 8 tenants who are currently on Housing Benefit. We will get more from them on the LHA single room rates (and it seems none of the tenants will be any worse off - an 'unforeseen consequence' of the new system!). We propose to put them all on Notice with the carrot that if they agree to sign new tenancies for the higher rent we will grant fresh ASTs for 6 months.

Googling the subject confirms that if a claimant goes off claim for a week they come back onto LHA but we don't want to lose a week's rent! But no-one seems to have asked my specific question. Can you advise please?
