I seem to remember reading that in the case of disputes over deposits/damage, the authorities will almost certainly not uphold a landlords complaint if a professional inventory has not been taken. Is this really true? I paid £100 plus vat last year and the inventory was vague to say the least, rather less detailed than I would have provided myself.
Dos anyone have experience of having to make a disputed claim with the new deposit schemes?
