Can anyone please advise whether it is the landlord's or tenant's responsibility to sort the removal of vermin at a rental property.

Last year the tenant advised me they'd seen a mouse in the property so I made sure that all the exterior walls were properly sealed and that there were no mortar holes around the waste pipes etc. I also advised the tenant to contact the local environmental health department as they provide a free pest removal service. They visited the property and put down traps and the problem went away.

The tenant has now been back on to me saying there are droppings again but I'm not sure what to advise except to contact the environmental health again. Do I have any legal obligations as landlord.
