We have a property with central heating throughout and additionally a gas fire in the living room. The gas fire has since been condemned as unsafe and been disconnected. We generally have a policy in these situations if there is central heating we do not re-instate the gas fire. The tenant argues they rented the property with a gas fire and are therefore entitled to one now. What is the legal position?
