I have a modern purpose built building in 14 apartments which is actually 2 sets of 7 apartments annexed so there are 2 seperate entrances, halls, stairs and landings. There are 2 seperate landlord's supplies for each entrance. One is on a normal domestic meter and the bills are usually around £11 to £12 per quarter. The other is on a commercial supply and costs around £110.00 per quarter. I have asked current supplier, npower, to change this to residential but they tell me all landord's supplies are legally required to be "commercial". I have numerous other converted buildings where the supply is on a residential meter.
Do we know what the true position is?
