I own a 3 storey property consisting of 5 fully self contained letting flats, ie each unit has it's own WC,shower, kitchen etc. The entire property has a zoned hard wired alarm system interconnected through each unit.Central heating is located remotely for the whole building and cost included in the rents. I have previously followed the rule that as the units are totally separate then a HMO license is not necessary, but colleagues have advised that this is now no longer the case. Can you please advise?
Many thanks.
